Good News & NAPOWRIMO 2008

Journal Entry: Sat May 3, 2008, 1:55 PM
Junior Year / Good News
Though I have an extremely monstrous week of speed-painting, filming and 3 AP tests ahead of me, Junior year has flown by in a flash, and I overall I have evolved so much as an artist and gotten so many things done.

For the film I am co-directing/co-producing with a great friend of mine, and a cast and crew of talented students, I have completed the screenplay and begun filming. I spent some old art contest money for the purchase of my beautiful child - a Panasonic DVX100-B, for the filming of this ambitious full-length movie.

I recieved a state level award at some annual highschool art show for "Glass blown Orchestration," a prismacolor pencil piece which is my current featured deviation. It is now going to be kept at the state capital building forever.

And with some crazy splash of enormous luck, and amazement, I somehow managed to get a CRAZY full-ride scholarship for the 6-week RISD Pre-college program, this summer. RISD has been my dream school for two years and this happening, is just unbelievable for me. I literally began screaming as I ripped open the letter yesterday night, and I am still in a daze of joy. I worked my ass off these last couple of years, so I am very very happy.

So I'll definately be in Providence, Rhode Island this summer.

National Poetry Writing Month 2008
2008. 26 poems. 30 days.

I would just call it an experiment of romantic surrealism.

A doorway back into creative writing.

A reminder that in the end, I will always be a poet.

The deviation is here [link] . Check it out if you are in need of drinking a swirl of strange sentiment.

Hmm... I don't have anything in the art room. I am assuming you are talking about the crazyass piece I have in the comittee room which is the room across the hallway from the art room that nobody ever goes into.

Do you mean this [link]

? and I have like 3/4 of it at home, and 1/2 of it not done at all. There's a lot more to come... oh crap I'm going to go crazy next week. 6 concentration pieces due by April 28th.

I'm going to go insane.

OH. I remember telling my art teacher (gao long) 's wife.. AKA the piano teacher that I was going to RISD this summer. She thought that RISD was cornell for some weird reason.

I guess we made a mistake!

But you have fun at Cornell though. you;re doing archtecture right?

i dont see why im scary,
but if im not so much anymore thats cool.
im still volunteering at SHS so im there pretty much every day (untill i find a studio that needs people.)
~flappability:iconflappability: Mar 29, 2008, 11:40:21 PM
Aww.. thanks.

Yeah I actually would have traded with you last year if you weren't so scary. :D

We can definately do it this year. Lets plan on it sometime before summer. However, I can't let go of any of my larger or newer pieces, but that still leaves a lot of stuff.

I love your "tension" series with the crazy add-ons.

Yay... I'll look forward to that.

and I don't think you're scary anymore so it's all good!
